CARIBBEAN AFFAIRS Caribbean Medical
Mission Joins OSHAG/C in Guyana
Nineteen colleagues
in Medicine, like Dr. Berman Saunders of the Caribbean
Medical Mission of New Jersey, will travel to Guyana in
October with members of OSHAG/C to provide free surgery;
medical care and treatment for patients in Berbice County.
OSHAG/C President &
CEO, Carol Bagot, is dedicated to the group's unwavering
commitment of being a catalyst to bring better, improved
cancer and other medical care to patients in Guyana and the
Caribbean region. She credits the Guyana Ministry of Health
for its support that makes the upcoming trip possible.
OSHAG/C seeks to
educate its community and raise funds for continuing
research to find a cure for cancer and for comprehensive and
cost effective care that will benefit patients in the
Diaspora. Cancer has plagued the Caribbean community for
many years, but the lack of resources makes it increasingly
difficult for patients to access medical care in the region.
In preparation for
the trip, OSHAG/C will host a Brunch and Dutch-Auction event
from which the proceeds will directly go to support the
upcoming trip. The event will be held on Sunday, September
14 from 2:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M at the Anne Blue Convention
Center at 4710 Church Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, between East
48th St. & Schenectady Avenue.
